WoW (World of Warcraft) players are eagerly waiting for the “To the Skies” quest bug’s official fix update. It has been years for this bug, and to date, there is no official bug fix. But here are some workarounds that users on the forums and Reddit have found useful.
WoW “To The Skies” Quest Bug
The “To The Skies” quest is bugged in multiple phases, from teleportation to NPC refusing to open the door. Players are expected to use a special ability after reaching a tiny gap between the stairs and the wall and the cave to continue the scenario. However, some players have reported being teleported back to the base or into the sea.
How to Fix World Of Warcraft “To The Skies” Quest Bug
While the exact cause of this issue remains unclear from the developers, here are some steps players can take to resolve it.
Group Finder
Start searching for a group using the group finder, then leave the instance. You’ll be teleported back to the camp, and the quest should be ready to turn in.
Cave Approach
Climb up the rocks to get in range of the mount once you reach the cave. The mini-boss should spawn and the quest will continue as normal.
Special Ability
If the special ability to jump on the mount doesn’t appear, try this alternative. Head back to the big gate at the top of the stairs, climb along the rocks, and use Disengage to jump onto the ledge above the cave.
This will get you past the gate and into the Slave Pits. From there, go right and up the stairs, turn left and jump onto the roof of the troll hut. Use Disengage again to get onto the top of the hut. The mobs should now come within range of any ranged abilities you have.
Once all three are dead, the mount will fly north to the entrance to the Lightning Vein Mines. Follow it through the Slave Pens and use Door of Shadows and/or Heroic Leap to get over the mountains to reach the mine.
Scenario Queue
Queue for the scenario and mount the bird. You’ll get teleported back to Lorethemar but don’t leave the instance. Walk on foot to the entrance of the plateau.
To the left of the stairs is a cave, and to the left of the cave is a tree. Squeeze yourself between the wall and tree to get close enough to the bird’s flight path so you can hop back on using the special ability when it comes around and it will result in the completion of Quest.
