As you start playing Destiny 2 last big expansion, The Final Shape, you’ll be required to go inside the Traveler, get your new Subclass, and make your way to The Pale Heart. To do this, you must complete a mission called Transmigration. Be ready for surprises along the way, especially if you’re new to the game.
Complete Transmigration In Destiny 2
Here’s a breakdown of the steps for Destiny 2: The Final Shape’s Transmigration mission. Follow these steps:
Reach and Activate the Well (Step 1)
Start the mission and follow the quest marker until you get to the well. This is a new feature in Destiny 2 that you’ll use a lot. When you get to the well, it will turn into a dark orb. Shoot it to reveal a path, but you can’t go down it yet.
Enemies will appear after you clear the darkness. Defeat all of them until you find a strong enemy with an Icon of Light. Choose the Icon of Light, but be ready for more enemies. Return the Icon of Light to the well to activate it, which will make the path real and let you move forward.
Reach the Blocked Hatch (Step 2)
Follow the new path until you come across a barrier. To get through, you are required to shoot three locks on it. You’ll face these barriers frequently, so remember how to unlock them. Next, you’ll face more challenges and enemies called The Dread, a new enemy race in The Final Shape.
Your next obstacle is a hatch blocked by another barrier. This one also has three locks, but you’ll only see one at first. The second lock is up and to the left, and the third lock is behind the structure opposite the hatch. You can spot the structure in the center of the image below.
Once you open the hatch, you’ll enter an arena and be required to defeat waves of strong Taken enemies. To proceed, you need an Icon of Light to activate a well, but a barrier will block it once you select the item. Shoot the three locks around the arena to unblock it. There’s one on top of the barrier and two others to the left and right.
Evade and Escape (Step 3)
Go through the short jumping section, where you will meet your first Bound Taken enemy. Don’t try to fight them yet—just avoid them and move to the next area. This part is similar to the previous one: activate the well, defeat the strong enemy, and choose the Icon of Light.
To bring down the barrier this time, look above and to the sides. The locks are floating just off the edge of the platform. Activate the well again, and you’ll have another jumping section to navigate. Mara Sov is struggling, so you need to hurry and get through the Threshold.
Once you reach the top of the jumping section, you’ll be transported to The Pale Heart. A little spooky cutscene will play, which is a nice reference to the original Destiny and the stories we’ve experienced since then.
Enter The Pale Heart and get your Prismatic Subclass (Step 4)
Head into The Pale Heart and earn your Prismatic Subclass. You’ll zoom through space and land in a bright arena with platforms to guide you. Follow the platforms until you reach a dark path leading to the stunning new area.
Explore The Pale Heart’s beauty with the guidance of a blue crow, which shows you where to go. Along the way, you’ll face enemies called The Dread. Defeat them as you explore further.
In one section, you’ll face a barrier that can’t be shot open. Instead, defeat enemies until one drops an Icon of Darkness, which will unlock the barrier after spawning more enemies to challenge you.
After, you’ll face Bound Taken enemies, but this time, you can take them down. Charge up with Prismatic energy from wells on the floor. When fully charged, activate Transcend by pressing both joysticks, allowing you to damage Bound enemies and remove their Prismatic shielding.
In the final section, you’ll need to use your newfound abilities to unlock barriers with Icons of Darkness while dealing with tough enemies and The Dread.
Once through, you’ll enter an area familiar with the original Destiny, where you’ll merge Light and Darkness to unlock your Prismatic Subclass. This subclass lets you mix abilities from all your subclasses and Transcend without a well, preparing you for the ultimate showdown with the mission’s final boss.
Defeat Vrihn, Subjugator of Gardens (Step 5)
In the next part of the game, you’ll face off against Vrihn, Subjugator of Gardens, who’s a big, tough enemy. First, you’ll need to deal with some other bad guys before Vrihn shows up. Once it does, be ready for a tough fight.
Vrihn is a big enemy with three stages of health. It’s good at using something called Strand attacks. It’ll try to mess you up by hanging you in the air and then attacking you. Plus, it’ll keep spawning more enemies to distract you. To beat Vrihn, focus on getting rid of the smaller enemies first and dodging its attacks. It has this super strong attack that can almost knock you out in one go.
Once you finally beat Vrihn, you’ll see a cool scene with your Guardian and Cayde-6. It’s a nice reward for finishing the tough mission. Makes you want to keep playing to see what happens next in the story.
