Igon is an NPC in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. You first find him in the eastern part of Gravesite Plain and then in Jagged Peak Mountain. His quest takes you to the top of Jagged Peak, where you will fight one of the toughest bosses, the dragon Bayle the Dread. His quest involves helping him exact revenge upon Bayle the Dread.
In this Guide, we’ll cover a step-by-step walkthrough and its rewards.
Igon’s Questline Step-by-Step Guide
Here’s a complete guide:
Interact with Igon near the Pillar Path Waypoint
To find the Pillar Path Waypoint, take the road southeast from Castle Ensis. When you visit this place for the first time, you’ll hear a moaning cry at the Site of Grace.
Look southwest and you’ll see Igon lying on the road. Rest at the Site of Grace and talk to him several times until he mentions Bayle the Dread.
Dragon’s Pit Location
First, go southeast and look for the headless stone dragon statues. As you walk along, you’ll be attacked by the Ancient Dragon-Man. Defeat him and keep going until you find a small cave with a fire outside, which is the entrance to the Dragon’s Pit.

Enter the dungeon, clear it out, and defeat the Ancient Dragon-Man again. After this, you will reach the Dragon’s Pit Terminus Site of Grace. From here, you can continue to the Jagged Peak.
How to Get to Jagged Peak
- Head northeast and avoid fighting the dragon in the basin. Keep going until you reach the Foot of the Jagged Peak Site of Grace, which is past the wooden bridge. From there, go a little to the southeast, and you will enter a valley where two Jagged Peak Drakes are fighting each other. Defeat both of the drakes.
- Afterward, you will hear a laughing cry nearby. This is Igon. You can find him just past the arena at the entrance to the path leading up to the Jagged Peak. Talk to him, and he will beg you to summon him against Bayle the Dread, giving you Igon’s Furled Finger.
- Next, go eastward from Igon’s location and use the spirit springs to jump up with Torrent. Enter the cavern mouth after the second jump and avoid the boulders as you move forward. You will find a Scadutree Fragment just underneath where the boulders fall.
- In the next room, you will find the Ancient Dragon Senessax. This fight is optional and not required to complete Igon’s quest. You can choose to move past him and head up the tunnel with the dragon corpses to reach the Jagged Peak Mountainside Site of Grace.
Path to Bayle the Dread
- Follow the rocky path with the dead dragons heading west until you find another spirit spring. Continue northwest on the thin path until you see a rock jutting out over an area you can jump down to.
- Jump down from the cliff and turn right to find a ghostly chair with an NPC. You need to have the Domain of Dragon Painting from the Shadow Keep in your inventory. The ghost will give you a Rock Heart, which lets you transform into a Dragon.
- To reach Bayle, jump over to the path south of the cliff and stay to the left side of the mountain. Follow the path up, and you’ll arrive at the Jagged Peak Summit Site of Grace. The boss fights with Bayle the Dread is just ahead.
- Enter the boss arena and use the golden summon sign to the right of the entrance to summon Igon. Defeat Bayle with Igon’s help so he can finally get his revenge.
Igon’s Questline Rewards
Go back to where you met Igon before, past the Jagged Peak Drake boss arena, southeast of the Foot of the Jagged Peak Site of Grace. You will find Igon sitting in the same pose, but now he is dead. There is no way to save him. The only way to complete this quest is by helping him defeat his enemy, Bayle the Dread. Interact with Igon’s body to get your rewards for completing the quest.
- Igon’s Gauntlets
- Igon’s Helm
- Igon’s Loincloth
- Igon’s Great Bow
- Igon’s Bell Bearing
Tips and Tricks:
- Use the Dragon Hunter’s Great Katana, which you get by defeating the Ancient Dragon Man, for fights against dragon-type enemies such as Bayle. This weapon deals extra damage to them.
- Consider using Thiollier’s Concoction to receive optional rewards from the Dragon Communion Priestess.
- Remember, you can only summon Igon during the Bayle fight; he doesn’t appear in other dragon encounters like Ancient Dragon Senessax.
- Turn in Igon’s Bell Bearing to the Twin Maidens Husks to get the ability to buy Igon’s Harpoon for 1000 Runes. These function as Greatarrows and can be used with Igon’s Greatbow.
By following these steps, you’ll be able to complete Igon’s quest and help him achieve his long-sought vengeance against Bayle the Dread.
