Boston Airport Glitch
If Paladin Danse gets stuck in a room at Boston Airport, you can solve this by building a bell (found under resources -> miscellaneous), ringing it, and waiting for two in-game hours. Danse should reappear and become interactable again.
Fire Support Bug
During the Fire Support quest, if Danse keeps repeating “Check your fire“, you can fix this by completing the Molecular Level quest first. Afterward, speak to Danse using specific dialogue options to progress.
Console Command Fix
For PC players, you can use console commands to bypass bugged quest stages. For example, entering “SetStage BoS100 40” will move you past the stuck stage so you can continue talking to Paladin Danse.
Running Around Fix
If you prefer not to use console commands, follow Danse back to the police department and speak to him once he stops moving. This action should prompt him to proceed towards ArcJet Systems.
Save and Reload
As an alternative method, save your game, use the console to remove essential protection from Danse, execute the kill command on him, and then reload your saved game.
Danse not moving or progressing
If Danse is stuck and won’t move or talk, try these steps:
- Travel someplace else and come back.
- On PC, use console commands to bring Danse to you or move the quest forward. For example, type “prid 0005de4d” then “moveto player“.
- Go back to an earlier save and try the quest again.
- Restart the game or load a save before the problem starts if you’re on the console.
Danse disappearing
- On PC, use console commands to bring Danse to you (type “prid 0005de4d” then “moveto player“).
- Try fast traveling to places Danse might be, like Prydwen or Cambridge Police Station.
- Restart the game using a previous save.
Danse stuck in power armor
If Danse is trapped in his power armor and you can’t talk to him or move forward:
- If you’re playing on PC, use console commands to get him out of the power armor. For example, type “openactorcontainer 1” in the console.
- Another way is to send him to a settlement and then ask him to join you again.
