Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR’S CUT is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and Nixxes Software, in collaboration with PlayStation Studios.

Some players have experienced sound effects cutting out randomly in Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR’S CUT where the sound effects, dialogue, or background music either cut in and out or disappear while playing.

Here are some fixes you can use to resolve this issue.
Set Bitrate to DVD Quality
- Right-click the sound icon and select Sounds.
- Go to the Playback tab, select your playback device, and click Properties.
- Under the Advanced tab, set the Default Format to 16-bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality).
Turn Off Audio Enhancements
PS5: Ensure that any settings related to audio enhancements in the Sound > Audio Output menu are turned off.
PS4: For PS4 users, you can find settings by going to Settings > Sound and Screen > Audio Output Settings.
Disable 3D Audio

Settings > Sound > Audio Output > disable 3D Audio for Headphones
Game Audio Settings
Go to the in-game settings menu and check the audio settings. Make sure none of the audio options are muted or set to a very low level.
Change Audio Format Settings
- PS5:
- Go to Settings > Sound > Audio Output.
- Select your audio device and then choose Audio Format (Priority).
- Changing this setting to Linear PCM, Dolby, or DTS to resolves the issue.
- PS4:
- Go to Settings > Sound and Screen > Audio Output Settings > Primary Output Port.
- Change the format to Linear PCM, Dolby Digital, or DTS.
